Inspire London
This scheme (formerly known as Libraries & Learners in London) allows you to use selected specialist or academic libraries
- For a single visit
- For reference purposes only
Registered students, researchers or academics, should refer to SCONUL access.
To use Inspire London you must be over 18 and can apply via your local public library where staff will:
- Match your information needs to the most suitable academic or specialist library/libraries.
- Give you location and contact information for these and/or in some cases telephone in advance of your visit.
- Provide you with a formal introduction to the library/libraries, requesting admittance to their collections.
On arrival at the academic or specialist library you will need to show that you have been referred through the scheme and staff will:
- Give you basic help using the catalogue and finding resources.
- Direct you towards any printed help-sheets or other library guides.
Please note:
- Inspire London is for reference access and not for borrowing books or other materials.
- Many libraries however have an external borrowers scheme, giving limited loan privileges on payment of a subscription.
- Most libraries will allow you access to self-service photocopiers for a small fee.
