Blind Man of Seville - Robert Wilson

ISBN: 0007117817
The man was bound, gagged and his eyelids had been cut off - this was the scene greeting detective Javier Falcon when he was called to the scene of a murder in Seville. This was no ordinary crime, and as Falcon investigates he gets more and more involved in this terrifying case. He finds that the investigation intertwines the past of his own recently deceased father who was a famous artist in Morocco just after the war. Nothing is as it seems and as the story develops all of Falcon's assumptions about who he is and where he's from begin to crumble. This is an intriguing and highly recommended atmospheric thriller that twists and turns until the savage ending - highly recommended.

Depths of the Forest - Eugenio Fuentes
ISBN: 1900850656
Another great read from an author whose works are not widely translated into English. In this novel nature itself, in the form of the forest, is a significant character when the grieving boyfriend of the murder victim employs a private detective to solve the crime, committed in the depths of the forest.

Intriguing murder - Roderic Jeffries

ISBN: 0727859072
Combines a wicked insight into the ex-pat community, with authentic Mallorquin recipes.

Seville communion - Arturo Perez-Reverte

ISBN: 0099453967
Engrossing from start to finish, I liked the way the rich, descriptive passages evoked the atmosphere of Seville. The intricate conspiracy is unravelled by Father Quart, who is a well-rounded and likeable character.
